The closing date for submission of applications for each of the bursary and research awards is the last day of February of each year. The SIOPSA Executive will then review all applications and then communicate with the members if an extension of this submission date is required.
SIOPSA Research Award
A SIOPSA research award is available to an individual conducting research with the field of
Industrial / Organisational Psychology
.
esearch on the following topics will be favourably considered:
Executive coaching.
On-line assessments.
Ethics.
Competency model for Industrial / Organisational psychologists.
Individuals wishing to apply for this bursary must complete the SIOPSA Bursary / Research Award application form and submit the following information:
An abstract /proposal of the research to be conducted which is approved by the university.
Motivation letter indicating the cost associated with conducting this research and the contribution that the research will have towards the field of Industrial / Organisational psychology.
Applications will be reviewed by the SIOPSA Executive Committee and the result of the review shall be communicated to the applicants in writing.
The successful applicant is expected to present a paper on his or her research at the forthcoming SIOPSA conference and/or SIOPSA regional meeting.
A total amount of
R7 500
shall be awarded to the successful applicant and will be paid out in two instalments over the course of a year.
The first instalment of the award shall be paid out immediately after the SIOPSA Executive's decision to grant the award. This amount will be determined by the details of the costs set out in a letter of motivation by the applicant.
The final instalment shall be advanced once the award holder(s) has presented her or his paper at the SIOPSA Conference and/or regional meeting.
Motivations for interim payments will be considered.
The research results must be published preferably in a forthcoming issue of the Journal of Industrial Psychology.
Should the research not be completed, SIOPSA reserves the right to recall any monies paid with interest at the going rate.
