Dear Colleagues,

Many thanks you to all of you that took the time to complete the SIOPSA Future Fit Scope of Practice Survey late last year.  A report on the findings are attached and available from the SIOPSA website.

The survey was followed by a series of regional workshops on the Scope of Practice topic and additional qualitative comments were collected from members.  An analysis of these comments will be integrated with the report and presented at the 2010 July SIOPSA conference.

You are also able to download the recently published Draft Scope of Practice from the HPCSA from the website. This framework is now open for comment.  I will be preparing a response to the framework, so if you would like to make any comments that can be included in the response, then you are welcome to forward these to me.

My sincere apologies for not communicating with you on this matter (or any other Future Fit matters) for some time now.  I can assure you however that there has been some significant action from the four primary action domains of the Future fit program.  The Scope of Practice, Ethics, Practice Management and Internship domains will all deliver sessions with content during the July conference.  Keep an eye on the conference for various papers as part of a ‘Scope of Practice Symposium’, a track on Ethics with a range of papers from SIOPSA sponsored research in this action domain, a practice management sessions and new Guidelines for Interns and Supervisors.
