HR Summit

HR Summit has been described as the most definitive HR thought leadership platform in Africa, with various master classes, forums and learning experiences that will run simultaneously over one day, together with a shared networking pavilion. Themes at the Summit covers HR strategy and trends, talent acquisition, employee experience, learning and development, reward and performance as well as enabling technology.  What value does Organisational psychology bring to the HR value chain in this changing world of work? To address this question and more, Join SIOPSA at the HR Summit.

Connecting our human revolution to keep up with the industrial revolution

SIOPSA will be hosting a keynote and panel discussion linking the shifting world of work, the implication for the HR Value chain and how Work Psychologists support this new way of working. The session will emphasise the deepening of the humanity journey, across the HR value chain:

The essence of the 4th Industrial revolution can be summarised as digitisation, interconnectivity, virtualisation, automation and smart everything (Veldsman, 2018). Going into the future, the imperative is the optimisation of the people-technology interface and interaction in the DIVAS-infused, work place of the future for the benefit of all. The challenge is how to design technology enabled, productive, humane work places, able to satisfy the basic needs of people for meaning (or purpose); efficacy; fulfilment; belonging; and existence. The objective of this keynote and panel discussion is to take a hands-on approach, evaluating the shifts taking place across the HR value chain and how the role and impact of the IOP practice is changing.

Delegates will leave the session with a renewed perspective as well as tips and tools covering:

  • IOP response to the changing world of work emphasising elements of the HR value chain including performance management, employee engagement, learning and development;
  • Deliberating on and assessing talent in the new world of work; how this platform is changing, what competencies are critical, policy making and legislation as well as ethical considerations.
  • What brain science teaches us and what that means for interconnectedness, our limited brain capacity to deal with the pace of change and learning to change thinking and not just behaviour.

A Q&A session will be integrated during the session
