Congratulations to SIOPSA's esteemed Fellows!
Introducing: Dr. Aletta Odendaal; Prof. Ian Rothmann, Snr; and Prof. Andrew Thatcher
Fellowship is the highest honour bestowed upon members of the Society. Fellows are distinguished full members of the Society and have made an outstanding contribution to the science (discipline), practice (profession) or organisation of psychology.
Fellowship is awarded in relation to Section 4.1 (c) of the Society for Industrial & Organisational Psychology of South Africa’s (SIOPSA) constitution. Section 4.1 (c) reads that "fellows shall be full members who have made an outstanding contribution to the science, practice or organisation of Psychology and shall be awarded this honour by the Executive Committee".
Such an honour has only been enjoyed by a select few in SIOPSA's existence as an independent professional society for Industrial and Organisational Psychology within South Africa. The like of nobles such as Professors Gert Roodt, Deo Strumpher, Theo Veldsman, and the late Johann Schepers, serve as the only fellows of the Society. These individuals have made substantial contributions to psychology in their selective applied domains.
