This webinar is aimed at providing foundational and fundamental quantification principles of Loss of Earnings and Loss of Support claims. In particular, this session will explore underlying principles of such reports, how family income is used to calculate losses, what is required in the IOP report to value claims and how IOP reports are used to value claims, as well as a broad overview of the actuarial report. In addition, an overview of the role of the actuary is provided; and some common misunderstandings between IOP’s, actuaries and attorneys are examined.

This event will provide insight into underlying quantification principles of Loss of Earnings and Loss of Support claims so as to provide the basis for IOP’s to ensure that they effectively and correctly address quantum, and do not fall into the common pitfalls associated with the same.
PRESENTER
Dean Berndt
Dean has been with Munro Actuaries since 2011, and for the past 5½ years he has worked closely with IOP’s providing training and guidance in the Medico-legal realm. Dean has experience in working on matters for plaintiff and defendant parties from both an Actuarial and IOP perspective; thus, he has a decent understanding of the challenges faced within this ever-changing industry.
