R1,900.00

Data analytics can be highly specialised and highly complex in terms of the datasets used, the techniques applied and the tools used. It can get very complicated and also very expensive. However, as a start, by applying sound research methodology and using free tools such as Google Sheets and Data Studio, one is able to build dynamic and valuable People Analytics without specialist knowledge of analytics, nor breaking the bank. This course teaches participants how to build custom People Analytics easily and cost-effectively.

People Analytics for the new world of work: A toolbox for non-data scientists to improve decision-making

12 CPDS PSB002/ASP/003/2022/33

INTRODUCTION

The power of people analytics in everyday decision-making is undeniable. Organisations that excel at people analytics are 3 times more likely to outperform the competition (DDI, 2018). Despite the apparent value, only 16% of organisations have implemented advanced people analytics in practice (Peeters et al., 2020).

This is a 2 day interactive course for students and practitioners of People Practices to get to know data as a helpful tool, and not something to be scared of. Participants are taken through the basics of good data practices and sound methodology, and then guided all the way through to structuring databases and building custom data dashboards. The course offers an opportunity to put scholarly knowledge on important concepts such as performance, talent management, leadership, wellness and diversity into practice.

PRESENTER

Dr Clif P Lewis, PhD Industrial Organisational Psychology | Registered CPsychol and CHRP | Executive Coach | Former Head of People and Head of Research | Published researcher

Dr Clif is Principal Psychologist at the boutique consulting firm LBVC, teaches leadership, diversity, and People analytics internationally, and I serve as an advisor on People-related matters to several start-ups. He lead projects designed to give SMEs and startups access to People Science, which would otherwise be restricted to companies that can afford large HR Departments and expensive consultants. He typically focuses on developing organisational capacity. Such capacity building has included interventions such as policy development, process automation, coaching senior leaders, implementing evidence-based assessments, and improving diversity and inclusion, to name a few.

Clif holds a PhD from the School of Business and Management at Queen Mary University of London, registration as I/O Psychologist in South Africa and the United Kingdom, as well as accreditation as Chartered HR Professional. He is a published author in the fields of psychology, business, and law and collaborates with co-authors in Africa, the Middle East and Europe.

WHY ATTEND THE WORKSHOP

Build dynamic People Analytics dashboards yourself by using free tools like Google Sheets, without the need for expensive software or Data Science Consultants.

Data-driven decision-making in the People Practices space is no longer optional. We no longer live in the ‘Information Age’, but rather the ‘Age of Curation’. Knowledge in itself no longer holds power, but the ability to curate quality information, make inferences, and apply these to practice is where the power lies in the new world of work. Our everyday lives has become so saturated with information, being able to navigate and use information is crucial for surviving in business in the 21 century.
