Resilience: Thriving in difficult times
Background of the topic:
Resilience is the process of adjusting/adapting to life’s stressful demands. Psychological resilience is then the capacity and capability to bounce back and cope during difficult times. Mark will share his resilience integrated model and help us to understand ways to thrive in difficult times.
Mark Orpen-Lyall is a registered Organisational Psychologist. He worked for 11.5 years at Allan Gray where he set up their HR function and then ran their Organisational Development department. Wellness was a key part of his high-performance culture responsibilities. He now runs his own independent consulting practice. Mar completed his PhD in resilience and has applied his model to IT project role-out teams, actuaries product development teams, senior leadership and staff alike, especially in the asset management space. He travels around the world presenting on resilience (e.g. UK, Canada, Australia, Bermuda, Kenya and Ghana).
Why should you attend?
Mark will address myths that undermine our resilience capabilities; what really works according to the science of thriving/ resilience (an integrated resilience model) and 3 practical takeaway exercises for use with clients
Who should attend?
Mark advocates that you should NOT come to his presentation if you: have abundant vitality; thrive in all aspects of your life (mental, physical, socio-emotional and spiritual); have a clear, sustainable action plan that will facilitate thriving in a changing, dynamic context
