IGSPO: Social Dream Drawing in Group Coaching - 12 March 2026

Interest Group System Psychodynamics of Organisations presents...
Social Dream Drawing in Group Coaching: Finding your answer in a dream of the other
This half-day workshop explores an adaptation of Rose Mersky's Social Dream Drawing (SDD) methodology for group coaching contexts. Originally developed as a research method for accessing transitional dynamics, SDD has been transformed into a powerful coaching intervention that facilitates deep engagement with professional dilemmas through collective exploration of dream images.
The theoretical component of this workshop will trace the method's evolution from research tool to coaching practice, demonstrating how it complements other group coaching tools. Drawing from experiences with coaches-in-training, female leaders, and business managers, we will examine how the structured engagement with dream drawings creates a rich symbolic language within coaching groups and enables rapid access to deeper levels of understanding.
Participants will be introduced to a six-stage coaching process that moves from individual dream presentation through group association to explicit connections with coaching goals. The method's unique value in tracking transformational progress through changes in symbolic expression will be illustrated through case examples. System psychodynamics and socio-analytics informs this methodology.
